2. Jean Baptiste Lamarck He proposed an idea that living things did change and evolve. His idea (the inheritance of acquired characteristics) was wrong, but it helped convince the scientific communities believe that living things had not always been the way they are now.

3. Jean-Baptiste Lamarck had a lot of thoughts of evolution and how it would work. He also came up on a theory known inheritance this theory was about how if the organisms didn’t have body parts it can disappear within time. this includes his thoughts on natural science on environment. At the beginning of this theory Darwin was against it. But then later he agreed with Lamarck in how it would work on evolution by making the organism stronger.
4. I don’t believe Darwin could have developed his own theory of Natural Science. Without the help of Jean Baptise Lamarck. Due to the fact that Lamarck had promoted evolutionary theories that helped Darwin find a lot of evidence.

attitude of the church affected Darwin. And due to the differences of religion
and science the church had claimed that God wouldn’t allow it the church was
against the book when it was published and tried keeping it away from teaching
it.

ReplyDeleteLamarck developed a theory called "inheritance of acquired characteristics". You mention this in the second section but give it a different name in the third. The full name matters! It wasn't just the loss of traits. Traits (characteristics) could develop if needed (acquired) and then be passed on to offspring (inherited).
Darwin knew why Lamarck's theory didn't work... that didn't change. What he recognized was the value of some key points from Lamarck's theory, namely the need for traits to be heritable, the need for reproduction, and the role of the environment.
What bullet points from the guidelines do you think apply to Lamarck's contribution to Darwin's work?
Darwin didn't develop a theory of natural science, he developed a theory of evolution. I'm confused by the underlining of some of your terms. I'm not sure what information you are trying to communicate.
Lamarck certainly did influence Darwin, but keep in mind that evolution was not an unknown topic in the scientific community during this time and Darwin also had the influence of Malthus and Lyell to look forward to. Lamarck had historical value, but I'm not sure if his absence would have been insurmountable to Darwin developing his own theory.
The final question asked how the church affected Darwin and his decision to publish, not the response of the church after he published. Darwin delayed publication for more than 20 years. Why? What were his concerns? He didn't publish his book initially. His paper was jointly published with Wallace first and then his books were published later.
When you write a science paper, make sure you are very precise in your word choice and your arguments. Say what you mean, clearly and concisely, and read the guidelines carefully to ensure that you address all the questions as asked.
